This project, supported by the ODA (Overseas Development Aid) funding that will enable the team to train Instructors to run First Aid programs in the most rural and under developed divisions.
The Malta Red Cross has also purchased several pieces of equipment that will be utilized and donated to the project, including 500 pcs of emergency response kits.
The 2nd stage of this project will be advised after the initial assessment. Train the Trainer courses which explain in detail the methodology and the interactive prowess of how to teach a trainer to train.
Mr. Etienne Micallef, Head of Operations, Master Instructor, Secretary General Gozo Branch, Field Assessment and Coordination Teams (FACT) member. shall be leading the team. Mr. Micallef was also the team leader that led the Tsunami Project in Sri Lanka 5 years ago.
He will be accompanied by Mr Marvic Attard, Instructor and EMT (Emergency Medica lTechnician), also from the Gozo Branch was also on the initial team that went to the Sri Lanka Tsunami.
This project is also inline with the Disaster Response Team's infrastructure in Swaziland.
